Sit down

I don’t stand for much

the elderly on a bus

and sadness, because sadness

likes a walk

up on the hills

which is best

Also last minute goals,

the absence of God,

my love for you,

the grief you’re gone.

No podium or flag,

no martial song nor brand,

but resistance to those things

always and again.

So sit down, friend.

Break some bread and

sit down, friend.
